EDO welcomes the opportunity to make a submission to the Standing Committee on Environment, Planning, Transport and City Services on the Planning (Territory Priority Project) Amendment Bill 2025.

In principle, EDO recognises and supports the need to develop accessible public housing and public health facilities in the Australian Capital Territory to support the community. Our submission raises concerns that the proposed amendments can erode public rights to be involved in, and challenge, government decision-making and contribute to the gradual destruction of environmentally sensitive or significant areas.
