The Environmental Defenders Office strongly supports the passing of the Queensland Climate Transition Bill 2023 (Qld) (the Bill). The Bill is necessary to respond to the systemic climate change impacts already being experienced by Queenslanders. By implementing the Bill, Queensland will show leadership in taking strong action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG emissions) and will establish a path for a low carbon future that is just and sustainable.
