Help tackle the climate crisis in the courtroom

BREAKING

We’re in the WA Supreme Court from 20 – 22 December for the hearing of our first legal case over Woodside’s huge Scarborough Gas Project.

On behalf of the Conservation Council of WA, we’ll be arguing changes to approvals for the facility were made unlawfully, without a full assessment of their impacts on our climate.

We also filed our second Supreme Court case against Woodside’s Scarborough project on behalf of CCWA last month.

Earlier this year, the Western Australian government approved construction works for the expansion of a key component of this gas project – the Pluto LNG facility.

We will argue the decision issued by the CEO of the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation to approve the construction works was made unlawfully because it failed to consider the environmental harm caused by the greenhouse gas emissions associated with the approval.

We are in a climate crisis. The impact of emissions shouldn’t be an optional  consideration.
