Free Environmental Law Workshops –
Between February and June 2008, EDO Qld and EDO NQ travelled to 18 regional areas to conduct free environmental law workshops.
Hundreds of community members attended to learn how they could have a voice in environmental planning and protection. EDO solicitors spoke about public rights to participate in urban development and planning, nature conservation, coastal and vegetation protection, mining, pollution, federal environmental laws and many other issues.
Information sheets from these workshops are available on our Fact Sheets page.
Our thanks to the Legal Practitioners’ Interest on Trust Accounts Fund for granting EDO the funds to conduct these workshops throughout Queensland, in conjunction with local environment groups.
EDO will be conducting a more regular workshop program to help communities in their ongoing environmental campaigns.
Contact EDO Qld if you have more than 15 people in your area who would like to learn about their rights to use the law to protect the environment.
