Workshops

EDO NSW regularly conducts community environmental law workshops.
Community workshops are tailored to meet the needs of the workshop participants, but emphasise practical application of the information provided. Among the subjects covered include:

  • the planning and development system
  • mining and coal seam gas law
  • threatened species law
  • pollution law
  • native vegetation law
  • coastal protection law
  • water law, including the Murray Darling Basin Plan
  • access to information
  • effective submission writing, and
  • rights of appeal.

Newcastle – A New Planning System for NSW White Paper: what you need to know

EDO NSW will hold a free workshop in Newcastle on the NSW government’s A New Planning System for NSW White Paper and draft legislation, and on how the community can engage effectively in this important part of the reform process.

It is important for the community to engage in these significant reforms, as the proposed new Planning Act will control how the environment, heritage, and communities are considered in planning and development decisions and processes in the future.

When: Tuesday 21 May 2013, 6-8pm
