3. EDO Model Climate Law Project Discussion Paper
Following the ‘Best Practice Climate Law’ seminar held April 16, the EDO has released the Model Climate Law Project Discussion Paper.
The Paper seeks to highlight some of the issues the EDO would like to see addressed by comprehensive national climate change legislation. It poses the question: If Australia was to introduce a national Climate Change Act, what should it cover? A comprehensive plan to address climate change requires more than just the establishment of an emissions trading scheme, and it is clear that there are a number of key elements that should form part of the legislative architecture. The Paper does not attempt to present a definitive list of necessary actions, rather it identifies ideas for discussion and development.
The Model Climate Law Project Discussion Paper is now available on our website at http://www.edo.org.au/edonsw/site/policy.php or for a hard copy, please email

9. Sydney Olympic Park Wetland Education and Training Program: Climate Change, Sea Level Rise and Wetland Adaptations
The known consequences of climate change and sea level rise concern many managers and planners of both natural and built environments. Early knowledge of how to adjust and adapt to such changes will assist wetlands now and into the future. This two-day program involves a theoretical module on day one, followed by practical demonstrations on day two.
