1. EDO Seminar: Climate Law
The Environmental Defender's Office NSW, in conjunction with the Australian Centre for Environmental Law Sydney, presents Best Practice Climate Law: What would climate laws need to be effective at the international and domestic levels?'
The presenters will be drawing from their experiences as delegates at the Bali UN Climate Conference.

Caring for Country - A Guide to NSW Environmental Law for Aboriginal Communities.
Launched in November 2007, this EDO publication is available free of charge and covers the following issues:
An overview of the legal system and key environmental laws
The nomination and preservation system for cultural heritage
Access and permitted activities in protected areas
How the planning and development system works
Campaigning and the Law in New South Wales: A guide to your rights and responsibilities
This handbook examines the rights and duties under the law of those involved in campaign action. It focuses on summary offences, police powers pertaining to non-violent actions and deals with police responsibilities in a campaigning context. Broader and more serious matters such as drugs, violent offences and tortuous actions are also touched on.
This publication is available at a cost of $20.

7. NCC Movie Premiere: Sharkwater
The Nature Conservation Council invites you to the Australian premiere of Sharkwater , winner of 22 international film awards and the most important shark conservation movie to date.
The film's director, shark researcher and star Rob Stewart will be present for a Q&A after the movie and an exhibition of photography of the marine world.

8. Plant Conservation National Conference
The ANPC and Mount Annan Botanic Garden invite you to a conference on threatening processes in plant conservation and the responses we can effectively make. This conference will bring together scientists, conservation managers, on-ground practitioners and community volunteers.
Field trips will cover a variety of plant conservation topics using Western Sydney examples. The social program includes a welcome function, BBQ and conference dinner offsite.

9. The Australian Museum Eureka Prizes
Presented annually by the Australian Museum, the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes are Australia's most comprehensive science awards and the largest award scheme for research into critical environmental sustainability issues facing the country.
Entries and nominations are now invited for $60,000 in prizes dealing with environmental issues
