The focus of EDO-NQ is "public interest" environmental law; in other words, environmental law matters which have some broader ‘public good’ or ‘public benefit’ component to it, or which raises substantial public concern.

This means that the EDO-NQ may not assist prospective clients who:

1. try to avoid their environmental responsibility; or
2. are involved in environmentally-damaging activities; or
3. are being prosecuted for criminal offences under environmental law; or 
4. face civil enforcement action by public authorities for breaches of environmental law.

Where the EDONQ is not able to provide ongoing legal assistance as requested, we will do our best to refer you to private lawyers or other relevant service providers.
