The Environmental Defender’s Office of Northern Queensland (‘EDO-NQ’) acknowledges that clients, employees and volunteers all have the right to have personal information, information submitted for legal purposes and legal advice kept in a confidential manner.

Clients are advised upon the opening of their file all information will be treated with confidentiality. They are also advised that the EDO-NQ will comply with the requirements of the Privacy Act and will not disclose confidential information without the express consent of the client.  Permission will be sought to discuss a client’s case with Management Committee members for the purpose of file review and supervision, and with student researchers. This permission will be noted on the file.
